aci castello is a fishing village in sicily named for the norman castle which stands there. i visited aci castello while attending a conference in aci trezza, just up the coast. these pictures were the first pictures i ever took with a manual 35mm SLR. i had forgotten my camera on this trip. this was, as you can see, extremely stupid. fortunately, my friend santiago andres let me borrow his. this was the beginning of a mad dash up the coast toward aci trezza to photograph things in the soon-to-set sun. i think they turned out well.
